a ramen styles snapshot

Shimura Ken no Daijobu Da II is a popuplar sketch comedy show in Japan, and one recurring segment follows the hijinx of a neighborhood ramen shop. This is as close as Japanese TV gets to the great American sitcom, right down to the cheesy music and laugh track, and it totally blew my mind!

have your noodle cake and steam it too

This nifty little contraption, apparently sold on the Japanese equivalent of the Home Shopping Network, can simultaneously cook your instant ramen and steam toppings for it! There's also a miracle microwave egg incubator and a couple of perfect egg slicing devices. Now I know how Mr. Ramen manages to skimp on my tamago!
