mendokoro kururi in the ichigaya area of shinjuku (in tokyo)… i’m not sure how authoritative that countdown is, but the woman describes it as having a super thick, pork knuckle and chicken bone soup with a white miso base. it certainly looks worth a try!

To have an actual “official” ranking of ramen in Japan would incite so much controversy.  This was an excellent bowl of noodles I had, but I don’t think I would say it’s the best.  It’s up there though, and anyone in Tokyo should go here as soon as they can.  I wrote about it here:

I went back a second time with some friends, and it actually wasn’t as good as the first time.  Don’t know why though.
