where do you live furi? oKarma lives in colchester. from the looks of it, you are oop norf.

at least you have a thai supermarket. oKarma has heard there are some chinese supermarkets in chelmsford, but he can’t be bothered to make the trek. well, with london an hour away, oKarma plans to go to japan centre by picadilly some time. maybe he can find some ‘chuka zanmai’ at least…

there’s a little market in brighton called the ryelight that’s like a mini 99 ranch… it’s about all i can get when i’m visiting my sister. maybe we should start a thread to locate all the authentic east asian grocery stores in the uk!

Aye I am oop North, I live in Darlington,

Went to Toontown on Saturday, and had my Miso Ramen Fix (Does VERY Happy Kitty Dance) also picked up some of beloved Shin and Kimchi bowls (have they removed some of the heat from these or has Encona and Naga Morich just destroyed my tastebuds), will be going up again this weekend, to pick up a few goodies (a couple of boxes of shin for work smile for example) more noodle packs, and some ingredients and the like, Couldn’t find the purported Korean restaurant on cross street, although it could be that I was given the wrong street,

Picked up some interesting packs of sweet potato noodles as well as some random ramen packs, lots of interesting choice, from both Tsangs and Wing Hong markets (Wing Hong seemed to be a bit pricier on the pots but packs were a little cheaper but a more limited choice in them than Tsangs, but still seemed to cover all the bases and a larger range of general products as well).

Any suggestions for good Cups or Packs to watch out for, as I am all at once overcome with choice. and a mix of Japanese Chinese Malaysian Thai Viet and Korean noodles, and although not far away I do not earn enough to make it a weekly shop, so will need to limit it to a monthly visit after this Saturday and would like to make it count.
