Hey everyone,

Glad to find this site! I’ve been trying my best to find a ramen shop in my area (Atlanta/Macon) without any luck. I saw a post recently about a ramen shop in Duluth, which I’m going to try when I head up to that area.

Just wondering if anybody is knows of any other ramen shops in the Atlanta/Macon area?

Take care!

Ha well the awful waffle will kill any hotdog place. hehe so yeah you guys, I just arrived in Atlanta for T-day. I am definitely planning on peeping Haru Ichiban in Duluth while I am here. I also did a bit o research and Hashiguchi jr. looks promising although not nearly as promising as Haru Ichiban. And finally, there is Genki in Buckhead. I almost ate there last time I came to Atlanta BUT BUT as soon as I walked in I looked around and did not see one Japanese person there. Instead it was full of well hispanic… I asked if anyone Japanese was around or worked there, but the language barrier was difficult to get around so I just walked out. I might be willing to give it another go round this time round even if its just for Nihongo Curry! I think Haru Ichiban is looking the most promising… Anybody else PLEASE more suggestions for ATL ramen.

I visited Haru Ichiban this past weekend. Just about every customer and employee there was Japanese, so it made me feel right at home (as did the close seating quarters). They had quite a selection of different types of ramen: tan tan men (what I ordered), seafood ramen, chashumen, etc. All of them were available with different broths including miso, shoyu, tonkotsu and possibly one other but I don’t remember.

The tan tan men was delicious - I can’t complain, having not had real ramen for quite some time. It wasn’t very pricey either - the cheapest bowl of ramen was only $6, while my tan tan men was $7-8. Good creamy tonkotsu broth. The noodles were good too. I’ll definitely be visiting again…

Let me know if you visit any of the other places in Atlanta.

andmlb-

Thats great man! Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. I haven’t Haru Ichiban yet but I definitely want to this week before I head back to Los Angeles.
